1. Use Environmental-Friendly Products

A lot of companies and industries were making their products Eco-friendly from those Eco-bags we see in supermarkets up to the latest Eco-friendly inventions in this day. These products are known to be safe to its surroundings but some of the companies misinterpret their information, leaving their customers to confuse and blindly buy their supposedly Eco-friendly products. Eco-friendly products have different indications: Energy Star for appliances or electronics that are energy saving, Green Seal for cleaning products that are safe for the environment, and USDA Organic Seal for food and cosmetics that are truly organic. If you cannot find these logos or seals in your products you better avoid buying those for it may not just cause damage in the environment it may also cause harm in your family. Most environmental-friendly products are expensive but it will be good to invest in something that could stay longer and safe in the environment. This way pollution will be lessened at a great scale and at this rate people will learn how to take care of our planet earth they will use Eco-friendly products, they will appreciate the beauty of the world without using technologies that can cause pollution that can kill our environment.

2. Conserve Energy and Energy Efficient Use

We consume energy for transportation, lighting, electric devices and appliances that we sometimes use for unnecessary things. In saving energy, there are two things you might consider: Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation. This two terms have different meanings but have the same purpose which is to reduce energy use.
Energy Efficiency is the use of technology that requires a lesser amount of energy to perform but has the same function. A great example of this is using LED (light-emitting diode) light bulb or a compact fluorescent light that requires less energy than using an incandescent light bulb. Boosting energy efficiency in vehicles, buildings, electronic devices, and appliances is an efficient and inexpensive way of reducing climate pollution on a large scale. Widespread use of these energy efficient products could cut 550 million metric tons of carbon pollution according to an (NRDC) National Resources Defense Council’s report.
Energy conservation is any behavior that results in using less energy. Energy conservation is all about using energy when it is needed and not wasting any of it. Turning the lights or any appliances off when not in use is a way of conserving energy. Conserving electricity and using human power is a great way of conserving energy. Instead of using a dishwasher, you can just wash the dishes with your hands. When the distance is short you can always try riding a bike or you could just walk. You aren’t just helping the environment, you can help yourself to become fit.
Saving energy can be associated with saving the environment. Consuming less power reduces the toxic fumes coming from power plants and car engines. Carbon dioxide that has been released in the air contributes to the majority of air pollution.

3. Go Zero-Waste

There is this challenge circling the internet right now which is called the zero waste challenge. In this challenge, an individual must live about a week without producing too much trash. This challenge helps those individuals to eat fresh and live healthy since most of the food has packaging on it. People have to bring their own glass and eco-friendly containers in purchasing goods. At the end of the challenge, most of the individuals felt guilty with the amount of trash that they have produced before and most of them said that it really changed their lives.
Auri Jackson, a Buzzfeed producer who have attempted to live for a month without producing trash. She had learned a lot during the challenge. She had figured out that the best way to handle food was to use jars and bags. She had also learned to make compost with all her food scraps and waste that she wasn’t going to eat. At the end of the challenge, she showed the small amount of trash she had made. The Buzzfeed video had this realization after the challenge has ended. This is what Auri and the expert said,” I think one person can make a difference. One person can really evaluate everything that they’re consuming and make some changes. You don’t have to give up everything, but start with one thing and what I’ve noticed is it spreads throughout our choices”

4. Be part of the community

With all these efforts that people and organizations have been through, and all the campaign posters, signage, laws and rules that have been implemented will turn down to nothing: If some people would still not be responsible of their own trash and if until now they will still be ignorant and selfish human beings. This world needs a solution and it is YOU. It is your turn to make a difference. The future of the humanity is in your hands. BE PART OF CHANGE.
